Stacking The Shelves – 1/30/16

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

If you want to find out more about Stacking The Shelves, please visit the official launch page!

Okay these are books I’ve gotten within the past few weeks. I recently discovered Book Outlet which has several cheap books. And then there’s Book Depository which has free shipping and who can pass that up?

Nightshade, Wolfsbane, and Bloodrose – Andrea Cremer

Vortex – Julie Cross

All four I’ve read before – and loved them. I just hadn’t bought a copy yet.

Sage’s Eyes and Hidden Leaves – VC Andrews

Vampire Kisses: The Beginning – Ellen Schreiber

A Trail of Fire – Diana Gabaldon

The only one out of these I’ve actually read is Vampire Kisses. Sage’s Eyes is what I’ll be reading next though!

The Host – Stephenie Meyer

Ice Kissed – Amanda Hocking

Everlasting and Everafter – Elizabeth Chandler

A World Without You – Beth Revis

So far I’ve only read AWWY. Beth was kind enough to send me an ARC. The book was amazing, by the way. Definitely recommend you go pre-order it!

WWW Wednesday – January 27th

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

a-world-without-you_cover-1A World Without You by Beth Revis

After the unexpected loss of his girlfriend, a teenage boy suffering from delusions is convinced that he can travel through time to save her, in this gripping new novel from New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis.

I’m really loving this one! But then again I love anything from Beth.

What did you recently finish reading?

5364Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

For nearly twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland’s majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones… about a love that transcends the boundaries of time… and about Jamie Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his.

Gosh this book gutted me. I mean absolutely tore me to shreds. I’d probably be reading the next book in the series right now except I needed time to recover!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Hmmm so many options to choose from! I may go for Sage’s Eyes by VC Andrews since it was just released. Or I might continue in my Vampire Academy re-read.

What are you reading this week?

Teaser Tuesday – A World Without You

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

a-world-without-you_cover-1“So.. maybe the reason I was able to go back to just before the moment Sofía got stuck in the past was because I didn’t really have the intent to try to change anything.

Intent matters with time.”

-pg. 64, A World Without You by Beth Revis

A World Without You will be released in July. You can pre-order here.

Musing Mondays – Shannara Chronicles

Ahh I thought I’d start this new blog off with one of my favorite book blogging memes: Musing Mondays.

Musing Mondays is hosted A Daily Rhythm, where a certain question is asked every week. This week’s question: Have you read – or do you plan to read – the Shannara Chronicles by Terri Brooks? Have you been watching the new TV series based off the books? If so, what do you think?

My answer: I do watch the show and I’m really enjoying it! I’ve been thinking about reading the books but the thing is.. they’re so long. I’m not sure if I’m ready for that kind of commitment at the moment!
